In addition, the upcoming Zoom 5.0 version is promised to boast a long list of improvements to better security and provide higher levels of protection of users’ privacy. New security features have been added, and those that have caused concerns in the past have been removed. However, the company has responded very adequately to these issues and has been working to promptly offer effective fixes.
These issues have come to light in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, as global lockdowns have caused a surge in the popularity of Zoom. Zoom has been heavily scrutinized by security experts due to major safety and privacy issues, especially relating to the app for Mac OS computers.
